What you will be doing

• Proven experience in all aspects of the design and implementation of Signalling Systems.

• Engineering with particular emphasis on the preparation and checking of Network Rail Signalling design plans and working details (essential), detail design of safety-critical assets.

• Hold IRSE Signalling Principles Designer or Signalling Designer and Signalling Design Verifier(essential).

• Proven track record of designs in a large/complete project.

• Membership of IRSE or other relevant Engineering Institution.

• Practical experience of the operational requirements of railway construction works.

• Good knowledge of Project Safety requirements (essential).

• Act as Technical Lead or Package Manager for large/complete project.

• Direct the preparation of technical details, signalling plans, control Tables, data preparation and verification, wayside signalling designs, estimates and working drawings for signalling works within the Design team to meet laid down timescales and authorized budget constraints.

• Carry out independent checking of Signalling systems as required.

• Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design work in order that successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved.

• Provide functional support and guidance to the Lead Design Engineer(s) and others within the team on all aspects of Signal Design within allocated projects.

• Evaluate the quality and technical accuracy of works and make recommendations to obtain the best available solutions.

• Prepare and deliver briefings to staff on technical, procedural, and Handbook publications, including participation in relevant training.

• Discharge safety responsibilities in relation to CDM Regulations, Health and Safety legislation, Company procedures including the development of the project Safety Plan.

• Good commercial awareness and knowledge of contract conditions (essential).

• Excellent communication and presentation skills (essential).

• Excellent understanding of the task, time, and people management (essential).

Requirements

Skills and Certifications:

• Rail signalling
• Signalling Designer
• IRSE

• Degree/Diploma in Engineering and Science from a reputed university

• Minimum 10-12years of experience in Rail Signalling designs.

• Hold IRSE Signalling Principles Designer or Signalling Designer and Signalling Design Verifier(essential).

• Proven track record of designs in a large/complete project.
